Large-scale mining in Bristol Bay continues to threaten this special place, which is home to some of Earth’s greatest wild salmon runs and the last intact salmon-based cultures. Without durable legislative safeguards for all of its irreplaceable lands and waters, much of the region remains vulnerable to devastation in the future.
